Walden savings bank welcomes experienced banker filiberto nieves as vice president, commercial lender

Walden Savings Bank announced the addition of experienced banker Filiberto "Fil" Nieves as vice president, commercial lender, strengthening the bank’s commercial lending efforts and community ties in Sullivan County and the surrounding region.
A Liberty native, Nieves brings more than 20 years of experience in commercial lending, residential mortgages and business development across the Hudson Valley and Catskills.

Most recently, Nieves served as vice president and commercial relationship manager, focusing on expanding commercial lending in existing and new markets throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley. His responsibilities included customer relationship management, loan generation, underwriting, financial analysis, loan monitoring and coordination with internal departments.
Earlier in his career, Nieves served as director of business development, where he identified new business opportunities, implemented growth strategies, coordinated account transitions, generated deposit and loan business, and provided leadership and staff training.
He also previously served as a residential mortgage loan officer and branch manager, developing strong relationships with customers, real estate professionals and builders while managing loans from origination through closing and overseeing daily branch operations, sales, customer service and staff leadership.
