The minimum deposit to open a checking account depends on the account type. Super NOW Checking, 55+ Checking, and WSB Green Checking each require a $25 opening deposit. NextGen Checking requires $10, while Advantage Checking requires a $5,000 opening deposit.
Some checking accounts have monthly service fees that may be waived by meeting certain requirements. The Advantage Checking Account has a $25 monthly fee that is waived with a $5,000 minimum balance. The WSB Green Checking Account has a $3 monthly fee that is waived with $1,000 in monthly direct deposits, and the $2 paper statement fee is waived when enrolled in e-statements.
